A Graffiti Prevention & Detection System

Graffiti is undesirable in many places. House walls, train carriages, bus stops: the places where graffiti is removed every day are manifold. Every year, damage amounting to 200 to 500 million euros is caused nationwide. More than 100,000 graffiti-related damages were recorded by the police in 2016.

For this purpose, a sensor measures the particles of graffiti paint. When a painter starts his work, the sensor sounds an alarm and sends it directly to a surveillance station via Narrowband IoT, Vodafone's machine network. From there, security forces can be alerted and deployed. In order to deter perpetrators even before they start painting, the sensor can additionally trigger an alarm directly on site.
